The history of the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is the history of a passion, a place, and their pairing. Annually on the third Sunday of August, the meticulously prepared 18th hole of the exclusive Pebble Beach Golf Links receives a stampede from thousands of automotive enthusiasts who gather to admire the stunning cars lining the shoreline fairway. Exhibiting prewar and postwar automobiles along with the latest in concept car designs, The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance is highly acclaimed, and generally acknowledged as the finest of its kind.
Concours kicks off with the Ninth annual Tour d'Elegance. Participants enjoy a catered gourmet lunch, a champagne celebration at the finish, and commemorative gifts, while the weekend ends with the presentation of special awards including “Best Of Show Trophy”. The event has long served as an automobile time capsule, and next month they will unveil an authenticated record-setting prewar vehicle. The car with the magic chassis…… ‘Million Franc Prize’-winning Delahaye is rediscovered.
